On April 13, 2026, Nationwide is launching its CareMatters® II product in New York. This product offers the same cash indemnity benefits as the current solution in New York (Nationwide YourLife® CareMatters) with enhancements including separately identifiable premiums, two new payment options (pay to age 65 and pay to age 100), a maximum LTC benefit Return of Premium option, and an additional inflation protection option of 3% compound interest. Last fall, Mutual of Omaha began migrating its Long-Term Care (LTC) business from Illumifin to Mutual of Omaha. This phase included moving all new business and LTC13 and LTC09M-CA service and administration in-house.

The next phase will soon begin, which will migrate remaining LTC13 (2013-current), LTC09M-CA and LTC17W (Worksite) policies from Illumifin to Mutual of Omaha, effective April 27, 2026. Once the transition is complete, the Mutual of Omaha team will handle all policy servicing, premium processing, and support inquiries for those policies. Policies will be migrated beginning the evening of April 24 and will be completed by April 26.

Mutual of Omaha has announced in-force rate adjustments for certain LTCI policies in Montana, North Carolina, and Utah. The changes will go into effect on June 1, 2026.
